"I came to the introductory session not really knowing what to expect. My documents were in three different boxes and two folders from years ago. Within two hours I had a working system and a labelling sheet I could actually follow at home. The companion was calm and methodical — no pressure, no opinions on what my documents 'meant', just help getting them sorted."

"My wife and I attended the Extended Programme together over about five weeks. We had documents from two households merging — hers and mine — so there was a lot to go through. The programme helped us agree on a folder system that works for both of us, which honestly would have been hard to negotiate on our own. The scanning checklist was also very useful."

"What I appreciated most was that no one tried to tell me what to do with my documents in any financial sense. I was a bit cautious about that going in. But the session really did stay within the sorting and labelling scope. The family-reference handout I produced in the workshop is now sitting in my filing cabinet for my children to reference when needed."

"I attended the information session on my own, mostly out of curiosity. I was not sure if my records situation was complicated enough to warrant a full workshop. The session gave me a clear framework for the main categories, and I ended up sorting most of my own documents at home afterwards using the reference sheet. A sensible starting point."

"I booked the companion workshop on behalf of my father, and I sat in with him. The companion was patient with the pace and adjusted when my father needed extra time on certain categories. The session produced a handout that I as his daughter can now refer to. That alone made the fee worthwhile for our family."

"My husband and I completed the extended programme in April. We had been meaning to sort out our property and insurance records for a long time — probably ten years. Having weekly sessions with a clear structure made it happen. The binder we ended up with is genuinely useful and we have already shown our children where everything is kept."

Case Studies

Participant journeys in more detail

CASE STUDY 01

A retired couple with forty years of accumulated documents

CHALLENGE

Four decades of documents in multiple locations — two filing cabinets, a collection of plastic folders, and a box of papers that had not been opened since 2012. Neither spouse knew what the other's key documents contained or where specific papers were filed.

SESSIONS USED

Extended Records Re-Organisation Programme attended as a couple over six weekly sessions. The programme paced the work across the full document collection in manageable weekly portions.

OUTCOME

A complete household reference binder organised by category. Scanning checklist completed for key documents. Both spouses now aware of the location and label of every significant item. Family-reference handout prepared for their two adult children.

"We kept saying we would do it ourselves one day. The programme gave us the structure to finally get it done." — Rajendran & Priya, Cheras

CASE STUDY 02

An individual preparing to scale back full-time work

CHALLENGE

A single participant in her late fifties was reducing her working hours and wanted to get her personal records in order before the shift. She had no existing folder system and was unsure which document categories were relevant to her situation.

SESSIONS USED

Started with the Information Session to understand the category framework, then returned two weeks later for the Companion Workshop to work through her actual documents with a companion.

OUTCOME

Document inventory completed. New folder system labelled and in use. Family-reference handout produced for her sister. Participant described the two-session combination as "just the right amount of help without being over-serviced."

"I wanted to get things in order before things got complicated. This was exactly what I needed." — Sunita, Ampang
